I WALK ALONE

Time and tide waits for none. Everything changes at a blink of an eye. After all change is the only constant thing in life. Sitting on the open terrace of my apartment, gazing outside as the whole city is lit up for the most mesmerizing festival of the year – DIWALI. The hustle bustle on the roads, noise of firecrackers, the twinkling lights all around the city, everything looks so astonishing.

DIWALI, the festival of colors, lights, fire crackers, sweets etc. It’s the festival of joy, togetherness, bonding, family time. The best part of the festival is the different shades of colors that it adds to everybody’s life. The lights lighten up every dark corner of life. The importance of each day of the festival adds up to so much of affection between the family members and friends – irreplaceable.

The festival has always given me such amazing memories for lifetime. The lights & colors take me to the flashback of the time I had spent with my friends & family. Gorging on sweets, namkeens, roaming around the city, creating memories - had a hell lot of fun.

But the bursting firecrackers bring me back to reality. I had been waiting the whole year for this festival, but today something is amiss. Nothing feels like before. I don’t feel like celebrating, because I just can’t get over the tragic loss of the two most important aspects of my life.

It’s like a nervous breakdown for me. Everything looks so colorless & darker without those two. Their loss has created a void, which no amount of colors or lights could fill.

I know nothing can bring them back in my life. I can only miss them.

TRUST & FRIENDSHIP – Rest in peace.

FRIENDSHIP stands tall on the shoulders of TRUST, without them I WALK ALONE.

UNSPOKEN FEELINGS

“So, what have you decided?” he opened the call with a question. He was waiting very anxiously for her to answer this question. “What are you talking about?” she answered a question with a question. She’s so good at playing dumb. He being a true Piscean was hell-bent to get the answer.

Putting it another way, explaining the already conveyed message he asked, “What’s my return gift, you were talking about?” They were discussing about the return gift that she promised for all the help and support from him.

The conversation on the phone brought a mischievous grin on their face. “What do you want, tell me?” her reply raised the temperature of the conversation. “Everything that you are ready to offer.” He replied quickly maintaining the heat of the situation. The exchange of coy words was taking a steep turn revealing their inner emotions. They were trying to bluff each other but the pauses and smiles were loud and clear to understand their romantic advances towards each other.

“Stop being naughty.” She reluctantly tried to stop his advances. But only she knows how much she was enjoying this. “I haven’t started being naughty yet. Allow me once and I shall show you how naughty I can get.” He was getting up and closer now. The pin drop silence was now filled with heavy breathing on both the sides.  His words created a spell on her mind.

“Please stop, I might fall for you.” She replied to avoid the unknowing silence “What would you do then” She being a lioness by nature always wants to assess and be confirm about everything. Now the ball was in his court. “I’ll marry you” his answer outwit her every single doubt. Again a pin drop silence filled with heavy breathing. Emotions took a toll on flirting.

“My parents won’t agree.” She was herself not sure if she really wants to get into this or shut this up. She spoke what she felt. “I assure you they won’t disagree” He replied confidently taking the control of the conversation. This was driving her crazy. She has never been in such an ambiguous situation.

The mere topic of marriage brought her back to realization that she is already committed. Taking a control on her feelings she laughed a loud and said, “That was too good, you’re an amazing flirt.” They again played bluff, this time not to each other but to the world. He laughed back to acknowledge her compliment. They both knew each other like the back of hand. Everything was spoken, conveyed but with the absence of words.

They ended the call but this time SILENCE was loud and clear.

THE LAST WISH

"Any last wish?" The doctors asked the young man lying helplessly, summing up his life on the hospital bed.  This room of the hospital was filled with sorrow, sadness, grief, agony. He scanned all his family members, friends, relatives standing in the room as if his eyes were searching for the last wish. Finally his eyes stopped at the doctor and he expressed his desire..rather his last wish to talk to a person who was very dear to him, very close to his heart, someone he loved unconditionally, a voice that soothes his ears, melts his heart. Patiently listening doctors and all the other members were amazed, expressing the last wish brought so much of life on his face that no other medical miracle could do in last few days. He pointed his finger towards his mobile phone and requested the doctor to dial a number. The doctor happily took this responsibility of fulfilling his last wish. With an uncertain state of mind the doctor dialed the number. The young lad was anxiously waiting for the doctor to hand over the phone so he could live his last wish. The doctor kept on dialing the number repeatedly. Connecting a call shouldn’t take this long. Every passing second was like a leap year to him, reliving all the past memories. Finally the doctor leaned forward to talk, “I have tried several times to connect the call, but the call gets automatically rejected.” “What shall we do now?” The doctor completed his sentence after a pause.

No one could ever get a reply from him.

May his WISH Rest In Peace.
