Love After Return… Or Love Under Trial?

Love After Return… Or Love Under Trial?

WARNING
What if the love you waited for… returns,
but doesn’t trust the person who waited?

He had waited.

Not days.
Not months.
Years.

Not loudly. Not dramatically.
But quietly… in the corners of his life where her memories still lived.

Every place he went… had a version of her.
Every song he heard… sounded incomplete without her name in it.

People told him to move on.
He tried.

He met people.
He smiled.
He spoke.
But his heart… never signed any agreement.

Because somewhere inside, he had this foolish belief—
“She will come back.”

And one day… she did.

No grand entry.
No dramatic confession.

Just a message.
Simple. Casual. Dangerous.

“Hey… how have you been?”

And just like that—
all the years he spent learning to live without her… collapsed in a second.

They started again.

Slowly. Carefully.
Like two people trying to rebuild something fragile with trembling hands.

He was happy.
Not loudly. Not visibly.
But deeply… peacefully happy.

Because this time—
he wasn’t dreaming of love.

He was planning a life.

But love didn’t return alone.

It brought questions.
Doubts.
And a past… that refused to stay in the past.

“Who were you talking to all these years?”
“Did you ever love someone else?”
“Were you with other women?”

At first… he smiled.

He explained.
He reassured.
He softened his voice to match her fears.

Because he understood—
she wasn’t doubting him… she was protecting herself.

But questions turned into patterns.

Patterns turned into accusations.

And accusations… turned into a silent trial.

Every time he spoke to someone—
he had to explain.

Every time he smiled—
he had to justify.

Every time he stayed silent—
he was hiding something.

He started shrinking.

Not because he was guilty—
but because he was tired of proving innocence.

The irony?

He had spent years alone…
not because he couldn’t move on—

…but because he chose not to.

And now—
that same loyalty was being questioned.

“I waited for you.”

He wanted to say it.
Scream it.

But love doesn’t speak like that.

So he whispered instead—
“I was just… living.”

She needed reassurance.

He needed peace.

And somewhere between her fear of losing him…
and his pain of being misunderstood—

their love started breaking again.

He still stayed.

Not because it was easy—
but because leaving her… was harder.

But something inside him had changed.

Earlier, he dreamed of a future with her.

Now…
he just hoped the present wouldn’t hurt.

Because love is not just about coming back.

It’s about what you bring back with you.

And sometimes…

The distance doesn’t break people.

The doubts after reunion do.

Tell me…

How long can a person keep proving loyalty for a time when they weren’t even yours?

Guilt or The Person?

After finishing all her household chores, she finally retreated to the quiet corner of her world—her bed. The fan whirred softly above, but her mind was louder than the silence around her. Today felt... different. A strange restlessness tugged at her heart, like an old wound gently starting to bleed again.

She didn’t know what prompted it—maybe a faint memory triggered by a song playing in the market, or maybe just the weight of a name buried too long. His name.

Without thinking, her fingers reached for the phone. She opened Instagram, the only window left into his life. Her heart skipped as she typed his name—once so familiar, now a question.

No results.

Frowning, she tried every possible username she could remember, even the silly ones he used to joke about. Still, nothing. It didn’t make sense. She remembered his words vividly, from their last real conversation: “My number, my social media — they’ll never change. If you ever need me, I’ll be right there.”

He wouldn’t just vanish. Not him.

Her unease grew. She scoured every platform, but it was as if he had been wiped off the earth. A quiet panic began to rise. Could it be... he finally shut all his doors on me?

Unable to rest, she paced for a while, but her mind refused to calm. So she did what she had avoided for years—dialed a mutual friend.

The call started with pleasantries, with laughter that sounded too light, too forced. Then, with trembling courage, she asked, “Hey... have you spoken to him recently?”

A pause.

A silence heavy enough to smother.

“Oh... you don’t know?” her friend finally said.

Her heart thudded. “Know what?”

“He’s gone.”

Her world stilled.

“What?” she whispered, her voice barely holding together.

“He… he took his own life. They found him hanging in his room.”

Silence crashed on both sides of the line. Words lost their meaning.

“No... no, that can’t be...” she stammered, her throat dry. “How? When? Why wasn’t I told?”

The voice at the other end grew colder. “You distanced yourself from everyone. You shut us all out. How were we supposed to tell you?”

And just like that, the call ended.

Her phone slipped from her hand, landing softly on the mattress—but her soul had already collapsed within.

He was gone.

The one who had loved her with the kind of love she had only read about in poetry. The one who waited with hope etched in every heartbeat. The one who promised to always be there, if only she had reached out.

She wanted to cry. Scream. Fall apart. But her in-laws were in the next room, discussing the upcoming puja, and her tears had no permission to fall here.

She curled into herself, the weight of memory crushing her chest.

She remembered the day she walked away from him. How society's voice had drowned her own. She couldn't fight then—for him, for them. And when she finally found the courage, guilt had built a wall too high. A divorced woman doesn’t deserve a man like him, she had convinced herself.

He had waited. She had hesitated.

And now, he was gone.

She had once faced a choice: to live with him, or live with guilt.

She chose the guilt.

And now, that guilt was all she had left—no forgiveness, no second chances, just the hollow ache of what could have been.

What do you do with guilt when the person you owe it to… no longer exists?

Journey of my fall - A letter.

I remember that starry night, you sitting beside me on the sledge of our balcony. Sipping down beer and smoking alternatively. Choked with emotions and eyes filled with pain. You took me to revisit the dreadful memories of your past. A relationship, that you valued the most.

I remember how awful you felt, while refreshing those moments, but still you gathered all the courage to tell me everything about it.

I remember and I felt the pain when you explained me, how you were mentally exhausted and abused, while trying to keep your relationship alive.

I remember our struggle to carry yourself out of that relationship.

I remember every message and call from that person, lying in your phone’s blocked list, which were made to harass you and continued to abuse you.

I remember, I used to read all those messages and calls from the blocked list. My intentions were not to spy on you but to understand the pain and trauma, you were going through. I am very proud, the way you held yourself through all of it.

I remember, then looking myself all over your call lists, messages and social media accounts. My name in bright and bold at the top of your contact list. I felt lucky, to be the only person, you wanted to talk to, your home, your everything.

I agree, it wasn’t easy, but definitely not impossible to get you out of your past and take you to the brighter side of life, where the sun could shine on my sunshine. I strived hard to not let you visit those past memories and you stay happy with all the love that I could shower upon you.

Filling the dark void of your past with all the happiness, I never realized the sand slipping off  my feet. Today I can’t breathe among these people in your blocked list.

An overthinker

“I am not dying here.
I am okay.
You don’t worry about me.
Concentrate on yourself.
Stop overthinking.”

How can I not worry about you, when you are my sunshine and my dreams sets with your thoughts.

When you lost your dream job, you cried for life. After all it was an end to a journey, which you strived for so hard. Among all, I felt that pain of yours and couldn’t stop myself from sharing your tears. You had lost the hope in your career. While managing my career, all I could ever think was to bring back the hope and boost you back on the career path.  Did I overthink then?

You were down with fever and someone from your family should have arranged a doctor’s visit for you. However, I couldn’t stop myself and drove down to take you for a doctor’s visit. Did I overthink then?

You know what I overdid then? I overloved and overcared you.

The one who overthinks, is the one who overloves and overcares you.

Boulevard of broken dreams

He couldn’t feel more complete with one hand on steering wheel and the other hand, snuggled down by the love of his life - his wife. Long drive on a rainy day is one thing they both always craved for. The only reason for purchasing an automatic drive was, so he doesn’t have to hold the gear stick and she could snuggle into his arms while driving. Steering around the city and countryside, they decided to return home at dawn.

She was very happy with the surprised long drive, which she yearned for long time. On returning home, he pulled her into the shower. He was quite an environmentalist, when it comes to save water by sharing the shower *wink*. He excused himself from the shower and instructed her to finish and wait in their balcony. She got very anxious by his uncanny move. She loved surprises and he never misses any chance to freak her out. He quickly changed to a boxer and moved out of the room. She also got into his white long t-shirt. His clothes are where she finds comfort in.
Holding their favorite red wine bottle and 2 wine glasses, he stepped in to the balcony and asked her to settle down. He perfectly knew how to plan such romantic surprises for her. Pouring the wine, they settled down and got comfortable into each other’s arms. Sipping down, they both stared at the cloudy sky and the drizzling rains. After getting a bit tipsy, he stood up and lifted her to hold her in his arms. Then he walked towards their bed and placed her down very gently. She couldn’t have asked for any more romantic end to this day. She was super excited to dive into his libido, as they moved closer to each other.

“Noooooo” he screamed, which brought him back to reality from the dream. It seemed like this dream was a nightmare for him. Hearing the scream, his mother walked into his room to check on him. She advised him to sleep well and left.

‘How can I sleep, when someone else is living my dreams?’ he exclaimed and dug his face into cushions, so they could absorb his tears for rest of the night.

Inception of illusion

“Hey, does this look good?” he paused his walk and turned his attention towards the voice from kitchen. His sister was holding the cake; she baked for their parent’s anniversary. He appreciated his sisters baking skills and continued his walk.

Soon they all gathered in the living room for cake cutting. Even after persuading by them, he sat a little away and opposite to the direction, his parents and sister were sitting. They cut the cake, clapped and congratulated the happy couple. He tried to look content and jovial while they fed the cake to each other. Then a hand tapped on his shoulder making a jingling sound of bangles. He looked across his shoulder and followed the sight of green and golden bangles to the dimpled smile. She was standing there wearing his favorite salwar suit. The twinkling mangalsutra and red bindi on her forehead added to her angelic beauty. Her sight cheered his face as lit. “Come, let’s feed the cake to mom and dad” and she pulled him out of the chair. They both fed the cake and took his parents blessings. His sister pulled her phone and asked everyone to gather for a family selfie. The entire family stood together with him putting his one arm across his mother and other across his wife. After few clicks, she showed the pictures to her brother. He swiped the pictures back and forth with wide eyes as if he is looking for something in them. “Ain’t the pictures good?” his sister quizzed looking at his expressions. “Look, how beautiful this picture is, all four of us together” she said pointing at a picture. “Four of us!” he exclaimed.

He couldn’t find her in the pictures. She was missing from the family picture. No, she was missing from the family. No, wait, she was missing from his life altogether.

He was stuck in the inception of his illusions.

Unsaid emotions

Ek hi toh dil hai...
Kitni baar tootega...

Abhi toh sambhla tha...
Ye ab phir phislega...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Toote huve aaine mei...
Apna aks talaash raha hu...

Tere aaj mei, mai...
Apna beeta huva kal talaash raha hu...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kya itna aasaan hai bhul jaana...
Kya itna aasaan hai bhul jaana...
Toh zindagi bhar yaad rakhne ki kasam kyun khaate ho...

Agar itna hi aasaan tha dur jaana...
Toh phir laut kar kareeb kyun aate ho...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Woh akhri ansh tha mera...
Woh, akhri ansh tha mera...
Jo neelam ho gaya...

Ab toh zinda rehte...
Mere umeedo ka qatl-e-aam ho gaya...

khush rakhe khuda usko…..

Wo bewafa hai to kya mat kaho bura usko…
Ki jo huwa so huwa khush rakhe khuda usko…..

Nazar naa aye to uski talash me rehna….
Kahi mile to palat kr na dekhna usko……

                                                             ---- Naseer Turabi

Main hazar gile kar sakta hun kyun ki mujhe haq diya tha usne…
Magar tum use bewafa kaho aisa tumhe kaha kisne…

Kabhi puja tha maine jise aaj uske liye galiyan bhala kaise sunun…
Jiske liye main bunata tha duaon ka libas uske liye baduaon ka kafan kaise bunun….

Wo meri zindagi thi.. wo khud ko hi barbad kar gayi to bhala kya kahen….
Haan magar jaate huye hame wo bata jati to achha hota, ki uske bina hum kaise rahen…

Magar mujhe aaj bhi lagta hai ke wo laut aayegi…
kahegi maaf kardo mujhe aur mujhe gale se lgayegi…

Uske sath bitaye huye dinon ko main bhulaun to bhulaun kaise…
Jo meri dhadkan ke sath dhadkti hai usko main yaad aun kaise….

Koi use yaad to dila de ki kitna khush wo raha karti thi sath mere…
Dur ho kar usne kyun thukra diye, Kya use sacche nhi lagte jazbaat mere….

Kabhi mere naam se uske chehre par muskan aajaya karti thi…
Wo bhi ek waqt tha jab wo meri ek jhalak paane ke liye tadap jaya karti thi….

Koi gunah tha to hame saza deti hum hans kar use kubool kar lete…
Wo deti agar zahar to hum hanste huye use bhi apni ragon me bhar lete….

Magar na kuchh kaha na bataya aur hamse dur chali gayi…
Jise mana tha zindagi apni usi ke hatho meri kismat chali gyi….

Wo bhale hame bhool jaye magar hum use hamesha yaad rakhenge…
Uske jinta Koi bhi khas nahi hoga… hum har kisi ko dil me uske baad rakhenge…..

'I am sorry'

They were meeting after a long time. First time after she informed him about her return from this city and their relationship. After going away from him, she couldn't wait any longer to come back, look into his eyes, touch him, hold him so tightly that nothing could apart them. She was waiting as her death wish was getting fulfilled. But when the moment arrived she couldn't think of anything else than rolling her arms around him, dig her face on his shoulders and cry unstoppable. She wanted to scream loudly, explain the situation to him in every possible words but she couldn't find any appropriate words than 'I am sorry'.

A gloomy eyed fairy

Oh god! We finally lay down to relax. We had escaped our work schedule. After a couple of beers and smokes, we relaxed down. ‘Are you sleepy?’ she broke the silence. I replied negative turning my gaze from the ceiling towards her; I rolled my hand on her waist and pulled her close. Our friendship was taking a new leap and with every passing second and we were accepting it with open arms. Within a very less span of time we grew so thick, so close to each other that anyone would misunderstand us as a couple in love. Last few days were very vital in getting us so close. Not only mentally but physically we were so comfortable with each other. This was the first time I pulled her so close to me, we were again doing what we were best at – gazing into the galaxy of each other’s eyes. ‘What?’ she again popped up a question. I started caressing her back and grinned back. She smiled at my response and rolled her hands on my waist holding my back. Our body yearned for a hug; we both read it correctly and hugged each other, very tight hug. Retracting back I kissed her on her cheeks. I was still holding her by her waist and I loved it this way. No matter where we were, if we were together I would always hold her by waist. We had few small talks about our blooming bond. Every talk would end with staring each other and then hug, ending with a kiss on cheek, forehead etc.  Few talks did end on an emotional note, when she used to change the side to hide her emotions, but I persistently pulled her back close to me, closer than before. Pecks grew deeper, intense and sloppier.  Words stopped flowing; now eyes were doing the talking. Nose fights and I could feel the soothing warmth of her breathe on me. Gazing her eyes I murmured ‘I love you’, to which she replied ‘You always say this to everyone’ in dismay. I quickly disagreed. ‘But is it the same that you say to her?’ she cleared the smoke from the question, eagerly expecting a reply. I shook my head and asked her permission, “Shall I prove it?” She nodded and I could see the twinkle in her eyes. This blue eyed fairy took me on a flashback of the entire last decade. The lightning of memories struck in my eyes and I leaned forward to place my lips on hers and set off on a quest...

Thantophobia

Time for the toughest week, doomsday it is. For an introvert person like me, it's really very difficult to interact with unknown people and make friends out of it. Many would disagree with me calling myself an introvert. Introvert is a term oftenly misunderstood with negative connotations to it. Introvert is typically, the person that no one understands. Introverts are often commercialized into the people who "sit at home watching Netflix all day."
On the contrary, the real introvert is the person who thinks deeply, keeps to themselves, and feels depleted by social situations. Contrary to popular belief, not all introverts are shy. Some may have great social lives and love talking to their friends but just need some time to be alone to "recharge" afterwards. Introverts are simply misunderstood because the majority of the population consists of extroverts.
It's my utter pleasure that I got peeps like you, who welcomed me warmly, made me comfortable enough to express myself in front of you without any apprehension. This was by far the best and the easiest experience of mine, making new friends. Each one of you added a glory to my crown. Although being a reticent person myself, I always enjoyed standing under the shine of these jewels.
But as they say, life is a bitch. What comes around goes around.
I have seen people, the precious jewels of my crown falling with nothing much I could do to save myself. The tighter you hold sand, faster it slips off.
The fear of losing people had grew this inhibition in me to not make new friends.
I always wanted to hold them as close to me as possible.
This fear made me restless. This restlessness started bothering me and others as well. My silence was misunderstood as my arrogance.
People worried for me expected an answer, I couldn't utter a word.
But silently I screamed, 'I have a fear of losing people. I have already lost a friend, now I don't want to lose others.' and the tear rolled backwards.

Sorry!

The door creaked, I did try not to make that creepy door sound but it still did. I tip-toed into the room balancing the coffee tray in my hand. The floor was all mess - melted ice, nutella stained sheets, clothes lying around. Slowly, steadily and carefully, I reached the side table balancing the tray and not making any more sound. Quickly placing the tray on the side table, I sat on the edge of the bed - gazing at the sleeping beauty. A strand of hair fell on her face, I quickly moved it back to reveal the beautiful face. Although it wasn’t hindering her beauty, nothing could ever do. The gloomy line of turmoil had disappeared from her face. Eyelids closed against the sun rays to block any and every thing entering into the panorama of her dreams. Every single muscle of her face and body was relaxed. Neither a twitch nor a spasm, barely any movement of her breasts rising and falling with each intake of air was the depth of her stupor.

Choked with emotions, I rolled my fingers on her cheeks. I want to say sorry to you, but I knew it won't be enough for my actions. I always took you for granted. I screamed on you, I snapped at you, I abused you, fought with you, did every wrong thing - knowingly-unknowingly that would hurt you. I now realize such a moron I was. Every time I was upset, annoyed, frustrated, mortified I always vented out on you. I always raised questions at you, argued with you, disapproved with you. You should never be blamed if you had ever retaliate. If any of this would have happened to me, I would have broke down to hell. But you always stood there for me. Thank you for being the Captain America's shield in my life and absorb all my inconsiderate, thoughtless insensitive and mean behavior.

I want to lean forward kiss on her forehead and say sorry, but when I leaned forward all I could utter was - 'Love You Sweetheart, Good Morning'

Adios Amigos!

Adios Amigos!
Bidding farewell is always tough and no words could ever replace that emotion.
Few among us were leaving to embark their new journey. Everyone wanted the last day of togetherness to be special. A plan - secret plan, was laid.
The shift started conventionally, people getting in to their preferred groups, some staying aloof from the lot. Few of us started arrangements for our 'Secret plan' but with a mixed bag of emotions as everyone didn't participate in the plan.
Very soon our secret plan was modified - to include everyone in it. The plan was now no more a secret plan and it was decided to implement on the plan immediately. Few of them were still hesitating to accompany us, but couldn't dissipate due to peer pressure. A sense of reserved -ness, cluster was still evident among us.
As the party started, slowly and gradually people started getting in to the mood. Secret plan members were already high.
The mere presence of alcohol, smoke, card games, food etc started to melt the reserved-ness, it helped others to shed their inhibitions. It was a great sight observing people not holding themselves.
It was time to return to office. People were more content towards the end.
End, as we all know, it has to be gloomy, heart-rending and distressing. This end turned out to be different. People avoiding, were now interested to be a part of herds.
The end, that dispersed wave 0967, actually clustered everyone together. The farewell which was supposed to end with good-bye, ciao, sayonara... however ended with,

See you soon...

Hello!

'Thank you for choosing Microsoft.
Have a wonderful day.'....

....and the call ended.

Finally, the endless mock call practice comes to an end. End of shift it is. In between all those 'Hellos' and 'Thank you', my ear yearned to hear that one 'Hello!'
The most special of all, from the most special person. This 'Hello' brings some kind of solace to my ears.
In a nine hours of shift, I listen to many 'Hellos' - rude, sweet, frustrating, kind, Irate, desperate ...
But this 'Hello' stands out from the rest. It's like a homecoming to me - a bird lost its way coming back home.
This 'Hello' gives a feeling of content.
I wonder, in this paced up world, new friends, some-one, some-thing might replace the 'Hello'.
But the moment, I dialed the number and heard the 'Hello' I realized this 'Hello' will never have a 'Thank you' to end with.

STRING - hold-em APART

‘Last seen’ turned to ‘Online’ – was this just a coincidence or a lovely coincidence.

Their Last seen turned to online at the same time. It was some sort of telepathy between them. To meet each other online was their only purpose.

Gazing at each other’s chat window, both waiting for the other person to type.

He checked her Display picture. She looked so beautiful & stunning. Her D.P brought a twinkle on his face. Her D.P made him fall again for her. He recollected the days he used to appreciate all her D.P’s wholeheartedly. These appreciations had always brought some kind of delight & warmth to her.

Meanwhile she was worried looking at his D.P. Because she was the only one who could see the unseen, understand the darkness beyond the lights. She always wish to get it all right for him, but somehow messed it up, while entangling her own life.

The Keypad was displayed on both the screens. They had enough to chat about but nothing to type. They both wanted to save their relationship but the awkwardness was killing it.

They both were expecting the other person to initiate but an unknown string held them apart.

They tried hard but…

The ‘Online’ turned to ‘Last seen’ again.

Heap of words, feelings, emotions left unexchanged.

A (not-so)LOYAL AFFAIR

“Can you hold the call for a minute?” He politely requested her as he want to talk to someone else.

“Sure darling” she responded super-fast.

Both of them covered the mic of their phones with one hand and held the phone far away from their mouth –

“Hey, that chick in red dress, I’ll pay 1500 RS send her to my room” he ordered the pimp, pointing towards the prostitute in red dress standing in queue.

“Baby, mom’s on the line, give me a minute, I’ll be there - you put the condom on.” Sneaking from the bathroom door, she replied to her another boyfriend waiting naked for her on the bed.

Getting back on the phone.

“Baby, I’m very tired. I need some rest. Can we talk later?” she made an excuse to disconnect the call.

“Oh! No problem baby, please take some rest, we will talk later. Till then I will get some rest for me.” He was equally delighted and eager to disconnect the call.

“Bye sweetheart, I love you.” He bid her a honey coated good bye followed by a kiss.

She responded to his kiss with a kiss, “Bye baby, I love you to moon & back. Missing you a lot.”

They terminated the call.

They sounded like they are madly in love with each other but both held the guilt of cheating the other person.

The pristine LOVE in a relationship was cheated on.

A relationship is always based on LOVE, TRUST & LOYALTY.

They crumbled the TRUST and LOYALTY.

LOVE was just the smoke around them…

TILL MY LAST BREATH

She meant world to me...
You are more than a world to me...

Neither she could be mine...
Nor you...

Loved her...
Will love you...

I WALK ALONE

Time and tide waits for none. Everything changes at a blink of an eye. After all change is the only constant thing in life. Sitting on the open terrace of my apartment, gazing outside as the whole city is lit up for the most mesmerizing festival of the year – DIWALI. The hustle bustle on the roads, noise of firecrackers, the twinkling lights all around the city, everything looks so astonishing.

DIWALI, the festival of colors, lights, fire crackers, sweets etc. It’s the festival of joy, togetherness, bonding, family time. The best part of the festival is the different shades of colors that it adds to everybody’s life. The lights lighten up every dark corner of life. The importance of each day of the festival adds up to so much of affection between the family members and friends – irreplaceable.

The festival has always given me such amazing memories for lifetime. The lights & colors take me to the flashback of the time I had spent with my friends & family. Gorging on sweets, namkeens, roaming around the city, creating memories - had a hell lot of fun.

But the bursting firecrackers bring me back to reality. I had been waiting the whole year for this festival, but today something is amiss. Nothing feels like before. I don’t feel like celebrating, because I just can’t get over the tragic loss of the two most important aspects of my life.

It’s like a nervous breakdown for me. Everything looks so colorless & darker without those two. Their loss has created a void, which no amount of colors or lights could fill.

I know nothing can bring them back in my life. I can only miss them.

TRUST & FRIENDSHIP – Rest in peace.

FRIENDSHIP stands tall on the shoulders of TRUST, without them I WALK ALONE.

UNSPOKEN FEELINGS

“So, what have you decided?” he opened the call with a question. He was waiting very anxiously for her to answer this question. “What are you talking about?” she answered a question with a question. She’s so good at playing dumb. He being a true Piscean was hell-bent to get the answer.

Putting it another way, explaining the already conveyed message he asked, “What’s my return gift, you were talking about?” They were discussing about the return gift that she promised for all the help and support from him.

The conversation on the phone brought a mischievous grin on their face. “What do you want, tell me?” her reply raised the temperature of the conversation. “Everything that you are ready to offer.” He replied quickly maintaining the heat of the situation. The exchange of coy words was taking a steep turn revealing their inner emotions. They were trying to bluff each other but the pauses and smiles were loud and clear to understand their romantic advances towards each other.

“Stop being naughty.” She reluctantly tried to stop his advances. But only she knows how much she was enjoying this. “I haven’t started being naughty yet. Allow me once and I shall show you how naughty I can get.” He was getting up and closer now. The pin drop silence was now filled with heavy breathing on both the sides.  His words created a spell on her mind.

“Please stop, I might fall for you.” She replied to avoid the unknowing silence “What would you do then” She being a lioness by nature always wants to assess and be confirm about everything. Now the ball was in his court. “I’ll marry you” his answer outwit her every single doubt. Again a pin drop silence filled with heavy breathing. Emotions took a toll on flirting.

“My parents won’t agree.” She was herself not sure if she really wants to get into this or shut this up. She spoke what she felt. “I assure you they won’t disagree” He replied confidently taking the control of the conversation. This was driving her crazy. She has never been in such an ambiguous situation.

The mere topic of marriage brought her back to realization that she is already committed. Taking a control on her feelings she laughed a loud and said, “That was too good, you’re an amazing flirt.” They again played bluff, this time not to each other but to the world. He laughed back to acknowledge her compliment. They both knew each other like the back of hand. Everything was spoken, conveyed but with the absence of words.

They ended the call but this time SILENCE was loud and clear.
